Message from Fr. Maria
Dear Friends in Christ,
Christ is Risen! Alleluia! Alleluia! Happy Easter! Thank you for your presence and prayers as we
celebrate this special feast. We celebrate the beautiful gift of life that God has blessed each of us
In the Gospel of Matthew we read how an angel appeared to the women at the tomb early that first
Easter morning. The angel explained to them that Jesus was not there because he had been raised
from the dead, just as he said! Matthew tells us that the women hurried away from the tomb,
afraid yet filled with joy.
That’s what the Resurrection does! It takes our fears, our worry, our hurt, our sadness…and it
puts it all into perspective.
The fact that Jesus is Risen from the dead, that he was victorious over death and sin, is reason to
celebrate. It’s that fact that gives us joy despite our circumstances and through whatever we may
face. What happened on that first Easter day still brings us joy and it still changes lives today.
During the Easter Season we focus on celebrations of the Sacraments of Initiation. Through the
Sacrament of Baptism we are introduced into a life of faith and an amazing journey with the Lord.
I pray that as we continue to walk together towards a personal and intimate relationship with
Christ, we may grow towards embracing a heart that is burning to know, love and serve God by
loving and serving others. Is your heart burning?
I pray that you and your loved ones have a blessed Easter! When you come before the Lord, please
pray for me, Deacon Labadie and his family and members of our staff. Thank you all for your
continued financial support during these trying times and let us keep our parish vibrant within the
community. Know that we will pray for you, your loved ones and your intentions. During my daily
Mass, you remain in my prayers. We may not see each other each day but may we meet each day in
our prayers! God Bless!
